About ICSAA
The International Conference of Secular AA (ICSAA) brings together people from around the world who seek a secular, inclusive, and accessible approach to recovery in Alcoholics Anonymous. ICSAA rotates annually between an in‑person host city and a fully online
global conference.
The conference welcomes people from all identities, cultures and belief systems who share a commitment to sobriety. ICSAA 2028 will continue this tradition by offering a welcoming space for connection, learning, and community for anyone in recovery.
Hosting ICSAA 2028 - Call for Bids
ICSAA 2028 is currently open for bids from cities interested in
hosting our next in‑person conference!
Bidding Process
Secular AA invites communities to submit an application for hosting the conference. The bidding process is designed to be open, transparent and accessible to all members.
Each bid must be supported by at least three members who are willing to serve
as the core planning team.
All submitted proposals are reviewed by the Site Selection Committee. After completing its evaluation, the committee makes a recommendation and submits it to the Secular AA board. The Board reviews the recommendation and votes on whether to accept it. The final decision is made by the membership, who vote on the approved recommendation at the Annual General Membership Meeting later in the year (December).
Groups interested in submitting a proposal can download the Bid Packet below. The packet includes an overview of the requirements, guidance for preparing a strong submission, and details about what to include in your proposal.
The application form itself is not posted publicly. Groups who wish to begin the process can request the application by emailing Secular AA at secularaa@gmail.com
The application deadline will be in early November. Once the exact date is confirmed, we will notify everyone who has requested the application form by email, and the final deadline will also be posted on the website.
